My experience was not very good. My car started running rough and would almost not idle at a light or stop sign. I called Mancinelli's as it's close by and had good reviews. They said that they could not get me in for 2 1/2 weeks, but if I left it on their lot they might be able to get me in earlier. That never happened I was without a car for 2 1/2 weeks. They diagnosed it as a misfire in cylinder 4 and they replaced all four spark plugs and all four ignition coils. When I got the bill I was shocked! It was $1,800 for parts and labor. I know this was overpriced but what can I do. I picked up the car and a few days later the same problem happened. I called and let them know that the same thing is happening. Rough running, no power and almost stalling at lights. After spending $1,800 I was disappointed. But, I figured they would get me in soon and fix the problem. I called them and they told me that they could get me back in 2 1/2 weeks to look at it! They mentioned that they would then have to look at the valve train and see if maybe the valves were burned. I really didn't think this was good customer service and I couldn't be without a car for that long again. Plus this seemed like a lot of work for a rough idle. I asked around and some friends recommended another place and I called them and they said bring it in Monday (this was Friday) and we'll look at it. I sent them the previous diagnostic, they did not touch the valves or head gasket, they put an ohm meter on the fuel injectors and found the injector on cylinder 4 was out of spec. They replaced all the fuel injectors, charged me a reasonable amount. No diagnostic fee since they said my last bill was was overpriced. This other shop had no idea why Mancinelli's wanted to get into the valves, etc....for an idling problem. Me either. Lesson learned.
Jim, I am sorry to hear about how you felt about your experience here, but do understand from your view point. The time in getting to your vehicle is problematic, but current staffing conditions leave us no choice as this is the situation for all of our customers. However, to re-address the situation to take the same amount of time is unacceptable and the situation has been addressed with our office staff moving forward. I have policies in place for customers that have already spent money on a problem, and they did not follow it as they should have. The technician did inspect the injectors at the original time of diagnosis, and they did inspect good at the time. If we would have followed proper procedure, all previous work and the diagnostic path would have been followed before digging any deeper. As far as the price of our repairs are concerned, they are all based on the cost of us doing business here at this location. Your opinion and that of the other shop are conjecture and I can't do much concerning that. I am happy to hear you got the problem resolved, and again apologize for us not getting you back here immediately to address your concern.
