It is simple! Denver is hands down one of the greatest cities in the West with plenty to do, see, and eat. Spring is starting to show and we are feeling a little restless. Let’s get out on the thawing streets and enjoy what this beautiful area has to offer. This list has the potential to be very long, so we will focus on some of the (mostly) local favorites with just enough close-by wonders to make it a very full road-trip weekend.
Start your day off at Jelly U Cafe, it is simple! The menu features modern healthy eats and is the perfect spot for that morning coffee!
After that, head on over to Larimer Square. Not only is it the oldest and most historic block, but it is also the most beautiful. You are guaranteed to find everything from one-of-a-kind fashion boutiques to vibrant nightlife—all under their signature canopy of lights above. It is the one-stop-shop for everyone!
After all that walking around, it is time for some lunch! Illegal Pete’s is your best bet for sure. Illegal Pete's is commonly described as an elevated Chipotle, so how could you possibly go wrong?
We really hope you loaded up on those carbs, because now it is time for a workout! It is time to head to the Red Rock Amphitheater. Trust us, it is going to feel like the most fulfilling Stairmaster of all time. If countless amounts of steps aren't your thing, have no fear, there are also two easy trails. They are the Trading Post Trail and the Geologic Overlook Trail, both about a mile long. Even if you’re not there for a concert, it’s still one of our (relatively) top local wonders.
Phew! After that, you deserve some relaxing "me-time. So naturally, the next stop is Glenwood Springs! It is the perfect place to soothe and relax you, not to mention they are mineral springs. That has to be good for you!
All that hard work it is time for some burgers at Park Burgers! With locations scattered all over Denver, it is easy to find the coziest joint to make your own! With an easily impressive lineup, it is easy to find the perfect burger for you.
Finally, any perfect day is rounded out with ice cream. The choice ice cream spot is Little Man Ice Cream. It is the cutest little joint with the freshest homemade ice cream in town!
At just about an hour away you can enjoy your time at the Colorado Hot Springs. Similar to the experience of Glenwood, but also quite breathtaking.
Lucile's Creole Cafe is a must-do for a relaxing time. Be sure to try the beignets!
If you are a thrill-seeker, make sure to check out the Great Sand Dunes, and enjoy the non-traditional experience of snowboarding on some sand!
Finally, the first Chipotle is located on the university campus so be sure the head over and pay your respects to the humble beginnings of the staple restaurant.
Listen, this is a hefty list and realistically not attainable in 24 hours. However, it is guaranteed to be the time of your life when spread out over a long weekend. So spread it out however you see fit, but make sure to hit all these must-see places!
Before you head out on the great weekend adventure, the highly trained auto mechanics at Mancinelli’s Auto Repair Center are here to get, and keep you going! We are located at 375 Logan Street, Denver, CO 80203. You can schedule an appointment online, or visit us. See you soon!
