Fall is here!

The leaves are falling and pumpkin spice rules the coffee shops, fall is officially here in Denver! Now is the time to get your vehicle ready for the winter months ahead. One important factor that we usually overlook are our windshield wipers. For clear visibility, it’s important to replace your wipers when you see any streaking or hear any noises when they are on. You should also start to stock up on windshield wiper solvent and make sure your ice scraper finds its way back into your car. A good battery is very important for the upcoming season. We can make sure your battery is in the best condition to keep your car starting on those chilly mornings. The cooling system should be flushed as recommended. Our ASE certified technicians will inspect the level and condition of the coolant, as well as checking the condition of the drive belts, claps and hoses. Worn tires can be very dangerous when the ice forms and snow starts falling. Keep an eye on your tire pressure and examine y ... read more

Staying Cool on Your Next Road Trip

Summer living in Colorado has many perks. Hiking the mountains, camping by lakes, rafting down rivers; we have it all! Most are just a few hours away from Denver. But before you pack up the kids and head out for your next adventure, be sure to help your car out by an inspection of your cooling system by a professional. Your coolant should be changed per manufacture recommendation, so summer is a great reminder. The Breakdown on Brakes

The Breakdown on Brakes

Brakes are necessary to stop your vehicle safely while driving. Neglecting your brakes can often lead to costly repairs. An inspection is the easiest way to see the condition of your pads, linings and rotors. Even if your dashboard monitor isn’t working, you should be able to identify poor braking warning signs. Squeals and squeaks are obvious trouble signs but if your car is pulling to one side or you need to increase the amount of pressure to come to a stop, there could be additional problems. A brake that is too sensitive can also be a problem since your pads are likely to degrade quicker. Additional symptoms are pulsations in the brake pedal and a shaky steering wheel. Recognizing these problems before they become serious is key to cost-efficient auto maintenance. Scheduling an appointment for an annual brake inspection is easy with our new texting line at Mancinelli’s. You can s ... read more

How Frequently Should You Change Your Wiper Blades?

How Frequently Should You Change Your Wiper Blades?

Most wiper blade manufacturers recommend changing your blades every 6 months to a year, but it really depends on what the conditions are that you put your car through. Colorado’s four seasons offer many changes for your car to experience with our sun and dry climate being pretty harsh on those blades. Winter can be especially rough, and we usually recommend a winter blade to help keep us safe. There might be damage on your blades from those times that you tried to remove the ice from your windshield, or even damage to your wiper motor. Over time, wiper blades become hard and lose their flexibility as they start to tear. Torn wipers can even scratch your windshield. As we enter into Spring, think about replacing your wiper blades as preventative maintenance that can save you from these expensive damages. At Mancinellis, we can help answer any of your blade concerns and help get you bac ... read more

MPG

MPG

Do you know your car’s mpg? First and foremost, let’s talk about how to measure your mpg. Sure, most of the newer vehicles tell you with a digital display, but those could be wrong. The best way to get the numbers is by filling up your car to full and resetting your trip counter. The pump needs to cut off in order to hit full. The next time you fill up to full again just simply make a note of the number of gallons you put in, along with the trip counter. Divide these numbers and you will get your mpg. There are lots of online trackers that can help you figure out your averages. The best tip to improving your fuel economy is using a little less of that lead foot. Less braking, avoiding high speeds and trying to moderate your speeds to hit the lights safely can all improve your mpg. Driving at 55 mph instead of 65 or 75 will save you money simply because it takes more fuel to power the car at those speeds. Your tires play a huge factor in mpg. Checking your tire pressures ... read more

Hanging trash bags in the back seat makes it easy for the kids to put their trash directly in them and not on your floor.
